MORE OVERVIEW AND SAFETY FOR A TELEHANDLER WITH A VERSATEQ WAIST TRANSMITTER
The telehandler from the company Carlo Industrie, located at Stompetoren in The Netherlands, is used for all kinds of demolition, construction and renovation projects in the industrial sphere. Because owner Carlo Köhne likes to work quickly and purposefully, he bought a handy remote control about two years ago. The waist transmitter VersaTEQ TW57 with 6 proportional paddles is indispensable, because it literally puts the telehandler within reach.
Moving a heavy load with a set of forks or working with the platform on the wall cover, telehandlers are super handy machines for these kinds of jobs. Unfortunately, you often don’t have a good view of the work from the cab. Certainly not when you lend a hand with the work yourself. In those cases, the waist transmitter turns out to be a real solution, because Carlo stays at his workplace or chooses one that offers even better visibility and simply operates the telehandler remotely. Tap up, a little to the right, extend a little more and lower that load.
“Controlling the telehandler from a safe distance using the waist transmitter is the ideal way.
You can see what you’re doing and make sure you’re safely far enough away from the action.’’
Working from a safe distance
Carlo lets the telehandler, so to speak, simply put a heavy load in front of his feet, wherever he is: on the roof, inside the hall or next to the tipper truck in his well-endowed machine park.
Even more important is the use of the waist transmitter VersaTEQ TW57 during demolition work. Damage to the telehandler from a falling wall is still manageable, but damaging one of its employees is unforgivable. Controlling the telehandler from a safe distance using the waist transmitter is the ideal way. You can see what you’re doing and make sure you’re safely far enough away from the action. Just demolish!
Project for Containerbox.nl
The telehandler from Carlo Industrie is a Manitou NRT 1850 turbo. This is an approximately 11.5 tons weighing rotating telehandler of an earlier generation. It can easily lift up to 5 tons to a height of approximately 18 meters. The photos were taken during a project for Containerbox.nl, a lessor of temporary storage space for individuals and companies. There is a lot of demand for this, so Carlo Industrie is allowed to take care of the expansion in the city of Alkmaar. On the one hand, this means the refurbishment of boxes in an existing hall, on the other hand, the demolition of the outdated adjacent hall so that new construction can take place there.
Innovative solution
The remote control used at Carlo Industrie is therefore a waist transmitter VersaTEQ TW57 from Tele Radio with 6 proportional paddles. The waist transmitter is approximately 24 centimeters wide and equipped with handles that follow the natural curves of the hands. The paddles are easy to operate and offer multiple functions. To ensure safety, each VersaTEQ transmitter is equipped with an independent certified PLe/CAT3, SIL3 safety stop function.
